2X Global, The Bloom Announce Partnership

Gender finance organisation 2X Global and social impact careers platform The Bloom today announced their new partnership aimed at bridging the knowledge divide for those aiming to get into or progress within the social impact sector.

The knowledge and professional development partnership will see the two entities collaborate to produce content highlighting the various pathways, resources and opportunities leading towards a social impact career, through the lens and stories of 2X Global team members.

2X Global is a membership and field-building gender finance organisation, coming from the 2023 merger of 2X Collaborative, known for the 2X Challenge, and GenderSmart, the global gender finance field-building initiative known for its influential GenderSmart Investing Summit.

Started at the G7 Summit in 2018, the 2X Challenge is a series of three-year commitments by development finance institutions and the broader private sector to invest in the world’s women. The first two 2X Challenges mobilised over US$27 billion in investments in women-owned, women-led and women-benefiting businesses.

2X Global’s Director of People and Programmes, Stella McKenna, said the partnership felt like a natural fit as the two organisations were aligned in their commitment to empowering through creating access.

“There’s actually quite a commonality – we’re focused on creating access to capital, while The Bloom’s goal is to create access to meaningful careers in social impact. For both organisations, it’s about bringing more people into the fold, dismantling systems that privilege the few and creating a more inclusive economy and society. We’re excited to be working with them to share stories and insights from our team!”

Founded in 2020, The Bloom is a global learning platform mobilising diverse social impact career resources and job opportunities through its influential newsletter, events and a digital community.

Founder of The Bloom, Jasmine Anouna noted that 2X Global CEO Jessica Espinoza had been featured in The Bloom newsletter in 2023 and she was pleased to be expanding that initial engagement into a deeper and wider partnership in 2024.

"Building a social impact career remains an immense privilege, and this partnership is a global symbol of how we can work together to dismantle that knowledge previously restricted to “knowing the right people.” Our partnership will unlock immense educational opportunities in joyful and creative ways to diverse professionals everywhere; The Bloom is honoured to celebrate the stories of the leaders behind 2X Global.”
